Festival of Awake Dreaming

Nano Success

Background
This story started as a dream I had. It was of a japanese festival and a meeting with a young woman. From there the dream went rather dark and towards the horror genre. However, as October has moved on the outline (which is now fifteen some odd pages) has become more a "dark love story" than horror.

I suggest watching "Shingetsutan Tsukihime" or "Elfin Lied" anime to get the sense of what I'm shooting for in terms of surrealism and dark feeling.

I'm planning on doing a first person story based around me. That is because of two reasons. First off, the dream I had was first person which is abnormal for me (I tend to dream in third person). Secondly, since I'll be toying with deep feelings I've actually had it makes it easier for me to write it from my point of view. Thus I guess it would be an "alternate timeline" of my life.

This should be rather interesting considering the last first person story I wrote was "The Roustabout," and I swore I'd never write another first person story again. However, I feel to write it any other way would not do the story justice.

Back Cover Paragraph
"I always knew the line between reality and dreams was as thin as paper, but after I left my job with the Federal Courts to visit the Sakura Corporation in Japan. That line began to wavier. I found myself not only lost within a new culture, but within a young woman's heart. Wondering if what I felt was real or if it was all a dream..."
